NAPIT is a membership scheme for businesses in the building services and fabric sectors. The scheme enables electricians to become recognised as a ‘competent person’. In the electrical services industry, demonstrating compliance and competence is integral to being able to lawfully operate. So the NAPIT membership scheme enables businesses to reassure customers of its ability to work safely, legally and to a high standard. It also regularly reviews these competences and also advises of new standards and regulations, thus enabling member businesses to keep up-to-speed with the changing industry.
There are a number of different NAPIT schemes covering electrical, heating, plumbing and ventilation & air conditioning. These schemes recognise a competent person in general electrical work, portable appliance testing, electrical inspections and energy-efficient installers.
